Date: 2009-03-17 10:04 am (UTC)Patrick is the 'Nationalheiliger' of Ireland. It's a holiday in Ireland and many parts of the US, because of their heritage. The color green is very important (in Chicago the river is even dyed green) and symbols like the shamrock, the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow and all that stuff...There are also hugs parades in New York for example.
Basically it's just a huge celebration where people tend to drink too much ;-)

Aber ich muss eh soviel Zeugs machen.
Ich mag irische/Schottische Musik auch total gerne :) Ichhab mich zwar noch nie super eingehend mit dem musikstil befasst aber ich freu mich, wenn ich das live hören kann ^^

Date: 2009-03-17 11:22 am (UTC)Ja live ist so ne Musik auch am besten, aber ich bin vor ein paar Jahren voll der kleine Folklore Fan geworden und hab total viele Bands und Sänger die ich mag! Eigentlich ist Schottland (also fast alles was dazu gehört wie Musik, Geschichte, Bücher....) mein größtes und immer währendes Fandom :-D (also wenn man da vergleichen kann).
