4x04 Metamorphosis

Okay, since last time I didn't really write a review to the new SPN episode, I thought I'd make up for it now, trying to write an entry while simultaneously watching the episode. I hope this is going to work...
One good thing about it, is that it's giving me something to do right now, since the epsiode is taking freaking for ever to load!

The Recap...I just loved the way they mixed scenes from the older versions of John and Mary with the younger ones. So great!

Next....Dark!Sam *squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee* I love the plot, but why does my heart feel like it is bleeding right now? Great to see Jedi Sam in action though again, I just love those new effects they use when they show his new powers.
And then Dean comes....did you see the look in his face? He looked so completely devastated! Poor thing!

OMG!!! Dean!!! And Sam! And Dean! And throws punches, and almost cries, and shout at each other, and.....OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay will get to the review part now....
Hurt!Dean is so adorable and hurt!Sam too! I understand Dean's anger and his pain. The one person he trusts, the one person he loves hides this all from him! No wonder it nearly tears him apart.And Sam is scared that Dean might leave, and that's the one thing he can't deal with! And the of course the best quote: "If I didn't know you, I'd want to hunt you." I really don't know if you cry or squee at that. Probably both.
Hurt!Sam is turning into Broken!Sam....
And Dean called Castiel 'Cas' ?!? WTF? 
But then while the hell does he answer his phone? Really WTF? In a moment like that? 
Okay we had lots of hurt, now where's the comfort? 

[in between another scene with great effects, but really not worth commenting on when there is Sam and Dean and this hugs thing between them!!!]

Next scene in the car....oh yeah almost forgot, there was something Dean wanted to tell Sammy. But then more secrets come to light, and shit shit shit! Sam how can you do this to Dean? I love Sam, but right now I could kill him! 

Observing the guy....looking at his eating habits is just nasty! I'm so glad I haven't had breakfast yet. Problem one reason why the show is on in the evening...My morning stomach is still a bit queasy.

Right so Travis....friend of John's? Okay that would explain perhaps why Sam answered his phone when he saw the caller ID. Seems to be a nice fellow. And again Hurt!Dean shinning through pretty obviously! God boys, you are going to kill me! 

[Again loading!!! I am going to kill my computer today! I guess it's my fault really, I should know better than to start watching without having the episode fully loaded. But I just couldn't wait....]

Scenes with the guy again (as Dean referrs to him)

The Impala....baby's looking good.
But then of course another fight. And what did Sam mean with he would stop the car if Dean didn't? Okay so if he can exorcise demons with his mind a car shouldn't be such a big deal. Still kinda creepy this new Sam.
The explaination he gives to Dean is the first step in the healing process of the boys, or so I hope. It certainly made me understand Sam better and even take some pity on him, which is a lot right now.

Skipping a couple scenes to get to the part where Sam and Dean storm the apartment of the young woman to save her. Ups! That was funny, especially the way Dean closed the door after him. At least some comic relief in this otherwise very intense episode.

Travis seemed pretty harsh...

But then when Dean is treatened Sam immediatly jumps in. Yeah for brother love! 
The end made things a bit better...Okay I don't really believe that Sam will stop with his powers, mabye he just can't, but it's good to see Dean trying to deal with it. And once again: '...not alone'
Okay total flashback of season 2! What was it? Born under a bad sign? I believe so. That made my fangirl heart warm up again.


Overall things: No Castiel! *sighs*
                           What an episode! My heart is still aching! .

I LOVE this episode. The angsty bromance is what got to me (return of the OTP!) although, yeah, I do miss Castiel a bit. xD

Jensen's emoting is supreme and Jared? Totally blew me away. *iz awed* I LOVE the suggestion that there is still hope for Sam at the end, LOVE that Sam got super worried and protective for Dean (hee, the parallel between Jack and Sam) at the end.

SIGH. THIS EPISODE IS LOVE.

Yeah this episode was such a boost for my OTP! *g*

Protective Sam was the best, and hurt Dean of course! I loved the first discussion the boys had where each one of them almost cried.

And you're right, the ending was hopeful...now let's just see what becomes of it *g*

I floved this episode, although I have to admit that it was a bit heavy-handed and anvilly with the Jack/Sam methaphors.

The intensity between the brothers was great.

I know a lot of people don't want a rift between Sam and Dean, but I think we sometimes forget what great chemistry Jared and Jensen have together.

I for one am glad that those two have something a little bit different to do this season...something to really sink their teeth into.

And the boys fighting, especially physically, is always frickin' HOT!

Sam almost crying was heartbreaking and I do think Dean was a bit too harsh on him with the 'If I didn't know you I would hunt you."

But I know Dean is just scared shitless that this is happening to his baby brother.

Also...I loved Jack the Guest Star.
SPN has been really good lately with casting guest stars.

I really felt for Jack and his predicament. Sometimes I couldn't care less about the guest stars' plights, but I did feel sorry for Jack and his wife.


And lastly, I too missed Castiel and did a double take when Dean called him "Cas" heh.

I so agree with you, great episode, especially because of all the intense emotions! I was so heartbroken with Sam as with Dean! They way he shattered that lamp! Poor Baby!

Jack was great, though I have to say I know nothing about the actor. Will have to look it up for our podcast *g*

And oh Yes "Cas"? WFT? Was there something going one between the ending of the last episode and the beginning of the new episode? Something they forgot to mention?

Yes!!! But did you also see how jealous Dean was of Sam and Ruby going off together fighting evil and "not needing" him.

Great plot bunny as well.

All that was missing from this episode was great hate!sex. ; )

I didn't like the Episode that much.....this Rugaru thing was to obvious only to bring up this "I't doesn't matter waht you are, only what you do" crab.
I miss real cases......
And I don't think Sam will stop his powers immediately too.
I loved all the brother stuff...but thats oly 50% of the episode

Yeah I guess the Rugaru thing was for obvious reasons, but themyth behind it is still quite interesting, did yome research on the matter ;-)

I'm still anxious about Sam and their brother relationship...it is certainly going to be interesting this season!

The brotherly moments were the best! I really think they make the episode great.
