A rec and some rambling

First of all I just got through reading the amazing fic 'Hooking Up' by the very talented mrs_leary
and since gwy wanted to know what I thought of it, here's my review

Okay first thing you should know this fic is a threesome: Bradley/Colin/Santiago. As some of you may know I tend to have a problem with threesomes or any other pairing that isn't my OTP, but this was a real treat! It's sweet, hot, beautiful, funny and true love wins in the end! And I seriously loved Santiago in this fic (not like I don't already love the guy, just not so much when he tends to put his c***k in someone's arse). Anyway back to the rec....where was I?
Yes I enjoyed it a lot! Like really really A LOT! So go read it NOW!!! :-)

Now to some rambling....

I think I'm slowly loosing my mind with my bigbang fic! 1st of May is just around the corner and I'm still very much in the middle of it all. I stopped counting the days, because that will just make me nervous as hell. I try to write at least 2,000 words per day, which is working at the moment. Thing is I haven't actually set myself a certain wordcount, but a chaptercount of a sort. I still have 3 chapters to go and still I feel like I'm rushing to the end and everything is happening to fast! And since I've already put so much time and energy into this project I really want the outcome to be good....*sighs*
Okay enough of that, just had to let that out, now I feel better.

Also I'm still working on my first Merlin/Arthur vid. So far I've gotten about 1:45 min finished which I think is quite an accomplishment. Still the song is over 5 min long, as I still have a long way to go! Why couldn't I've just chose a different song? *head desk*
Thing is this vid is inspired by an amazing SPN vid made by absrip and I just know that my video will never do hers credit, but still I want to do it....
Oh well I just need more time and energy, as with everything nowadays...

A bit of both I guess? Like I said I only have less than 3 weeks left and thus I'm ruhsing it but I also feel that things might happen to quickly in the fic...it's really frustrating right now

well I think taking a deep breath might help ;) I've never written long fic to a deadline (that i've actually met) so I'm possibly not going to be much help. I'm finding with the one I'm working on at the minute that once I have what I'd call a first draft of a chapter I know where it's going and then can rewrite it so the pacing is better. I'm guessing as you're writing you'll be able to tell if you're rushing the plot and be able to adjust accordingly. maybe just taking a bit of a step back would help. Just breathe and write lol. Maybe it'd help to ignore the chapter goal for a while - unless they're really short - and just trust that you know what you're/the muses are doing. Failing that make a lot of journal entries about it ;)

Thanks so much for your advice and encouraging words! I think it actually helped...I stopped writing yesterday and when I got up this morning to continue I was full of new energy and hope!
I've changed a few things again and am really glad the way it's working out right now.
I think now I might be able to get it finished without rushing the plot or anything :-)

Oh but you could still send the SPN Boys over, they're always appreciated ;-)
