Christmas Cottage
I just got through watching Jared's new film 'The Christmas Cottage', also starring Peter O'Toole and Marcia Gay Harden.
I have to say that I didn't really have any high expectations about this movie...I learnt that that is sometimes awfully helpful! In this case it was the same...
The movie started out pretty slow, nice scenery, pretty Jared...it took me a while to get into the plot, but when I did I really enjoyed the characters of the little town and all the funny bits and pieces. I just loved the way the whole town and it's inhabitants were portrayed and thus of course loved the painting Thomas/Jared did! (BTW does anybody know if Jared can paint at all? just curious)
Marcia Gay Harden was cast perfectly for the role of the mother! I really felt for her! And of course I loved Peter O'Toole. All the scenes with him seemed really intense and emotional. Had my crying every now and then. Not to mention crying!Jared! OMG!!! I love him even more when he does sad scenes, he's such a brilliant actor!
The ending of the movie was perfect! And again a moment to cry....
and all the music really got me into a christmas spirit, thus I've just started playing my X-Mas itunes playlist *g*
All in all a really sweet little movie which I will certainly watch again when we're closer to Christmas.
